Meet the newest member of the Buick family: the 2012 Buick Verano. Built on the Opel platform, the Verano is a bit smaller than the Buick Regal, but is bigger than the Civic or the Cruze. MSRP also settles right between these two classes, starting at just $23,470. And it's loaded with features: infotainment, bright lights, best-in-class comfort, optional leather trim, push-button start, remote start, and heated leather seats.

Underneath the hood of the Verano, drivers will find a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The direct-injection power plant averages about 25 mpg (21 city/32 highway), and pumps out about 170 ponies of power.

So far, the Verano has received rave reviews. According to reviewers over at Autoblog.com, "The new Verano is a remarkable entry-level luxury effort.
