Buick Makes Infotainment a Standard Feature

When the full lineup of 2012 Buick models is released, the automaker will officially be one of the first to offer a multimedia system as a standard feature across their lineup. The IntelliLink Multimedia System, as it's called, will connect your car to your smartphone, and will enable access to added entertainment, navigation, and safety software.
For entertainment purposes, the IntelliLink System allows drivers to access internet radio stations like Pandora and Stitcher, or they can listen to their own music on their MP3 players or thumb drives through the USB port. The enhanced voice recognition and OnStar software understands simple commands and enables hands-free texting, phone calls and even radio/song selection. The software will even let drivers access social media, navigation and traffic information.
The software first launched in the new 2012 Buick Regal, the 2012 Buick Verano, and was followed closely by the 2012 Buick LaCrosse. The first two models feature a seven-inch touchscreen, and the LaCrosse comes with a slightly larger eight-inch touch screen. And when the 2013 Buick Enclave and 2013 Lucerne roll into the Bayer Motor Company showroom, they will also feature the IntelliLink Multimedia System.
Why did Buick decide to make infotainment standard? Well, according to Tony DiSalle, U.S. Vice President of Buick Marketing, "Today's tech-savvy consumers expect more from their cars' infotainment systems...The availability of IntelliLink on every Buick sedan in 2012 and every Buick model in 2013 takes connectivity and media personalization to a whole new level."1
